576i media being flagged as 480i or 576p *on different players*

I have recently made a few DVD rips using MakeMKV and transferred them to my media server. These are PAL DVDs with a resolution of 720x576 pixels and are interlaced. Notice how this example is reported on various devices:

Server Version#: 1.41.9.9961

Plex Web Version#: 4.148.0
“Video Resolution: 576p”
“Display Title: 480i (MPEG2VIDEO)”

Plex Web Screenshots

Plex Android App Version#: 2025.20.0
“Resolution: 720 x 576”
“Video: 480i (MPEG2VIDEO)”

Plex Android App Screenshots

Plex for LG Version#: Client: 5.93.2 Platform: 3.9.0
(Main window) “576i”

Plex for LG Camera Photos

I appreciate that this isn’t the most auspicious choice of film, but it begins with ‘A’ so is easy to find. As you can see it is reported as “576p”, “576i” and “480i” in various places… with only 576i being correct (as you can see from the Windows MediaInfo report).

I can see previous threads on the same topic have fizzled out so perhaps this can start up the discussion again.
