Plex identifying my 576p MKVs as 480i (but not on info screen)

Whilst watching a movie last night, I realised that Plex was listing the movie as 480i, which I thought was odd.

I double checked the source material, and it is actually 576p.

I note that is a similar discussion from a few years ago, but the problem being the other way around : Why is Plex identifying SD video as 576p?

What is interesting here is that on the basic video info screen (that shows the cast and summary) the movie is listed as 480i. However on the info screen (where more detailed information is shown) it is shown correctly as 576p.

I’m running the latest PLex Media Server on Raspberry Pi 3 if that makes a difference, and using the Plex Media Player that is on the Amazon Fire TV.

Any ideas if this can be changed? I don’t think this affects playback, although I wonder if the Plex client does something different in upscaling if it thinks the image is 480i compared to 576p.

Playback is on a Samsung 4k TV BTW.

I noticed that on dark scenes, the image can often seem ‘smeared’ and faces can have this ghostly sense about them - wondered if that was anything to do with the scaling?

TIA

Just to add to this, what I see in the ‘Get Info’ panel for a 576p video, under the video code section is this:

Codec MPEG2VIDEO
Coded Height 576
Coded Width 720
Height 576
Width 720
Display Title 480i (MPEG2VIDEO)

Why is that?

Anyone from Plex maybe help out?
