I’ve been running Plex for a while and on the whole, it’s brilliant. This includes the live TV and DVR side which is generally working fine on the server version I’m using. There is one bug that is a little annoying (and hasn’t been fixed on later versions of PMS).
If I have two programmes scheduled to record on the same channel within an hour (one at 8:30, the other at 9:30), the second one fails to record. If I changed the failed recording to the channel’s +1 service, it records fine. Not a major issue but an annoyance.
My main problem is the live TV and DVR service with 1.13.8.5395 and I don’t want to chance another upgrade as I’ve reinstalled Plex a number of times and the upgrade is way too buggy.
I’m running Plex on Freenas and using the android app on FireTV as my main player. If I start recording a show and then start watching it on fire TV, say 5 minutes after the start, the Player doesn’t give me the option to “Watch from the beginning” like it should, it just fails to load and provides errors. It also locks up a tuner and states “Recording Live TV session” in the status icon on the server. If I logout of the FireTV app and try again, it will do the same and add another “Recording Live TV Session” in the PMS status icon. If I then leave it until the end of the programe, the programme will have either only started recording from the moment I tried to access it or not recorded at all.
No logs, I’m afraid…just annoyed at continually reinstalling the older version. And I don’t think I’m particularly looking for help on fixing it. I just wanted to log the errors.
In future, I’ll set up a separate account and test before I upgrade as I’m using this as my main entertainment/TV system now.
