A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and I keep getting the error. I can bypass by clicking on “Name” etc. but when I close out the browser tab or the app, next time I open them the process starts all over. Now I’m getting this message on a different machine (my PC, instead of the laptop where this issue started). Please help!

EDIT: it’s also starting to happen to my PC as well. I found a way to bypass the problem at least. Go to the URL field on your browser and delete everything after “/index.html#!/” (highlight “setup” and everything after that) and then delete it. This will work until they fix this, but until we have to stop doing that then I wouldn’t consider this “solved” IMO.

This has been happening to me all day. I installed a new NVME drive and so, downloaded the newest Plex Media Server and installed it. Now, this is exactly where I keep getting to and it just stops.

and then I can view my stuff. Like you as soon as I close the browser/tab and go back in I am presented with the first link and get the same error after clicking the orange “Got It!” button

This has been happening to me since I installed a new computer on W11 2 days ago. When can we expect an answer from someone that knows what is going on?

Installing 1.30.2.6563 was the solution for me.

Where did you get that version of software?

I just copied the current download link and replaced the current version with the old(er) version above in the filename.

So with the help of another user eric8bits, he suggested installing an older version.
I installed: plex-media-server-1-29-2-6364 which I downloaded from Download Plex Media Server 1.29.2.6364 for Windows | Uptodown.com

I completely uninstalled the Plex Media Server from my computer. Installed the earlier version. Loaded it up and where it hangs to finish the setup, this version just works perfectly.

Once it’s done installing, it shows there is an update for the server. Knowing that I could just go back to this older version, I told it to update and install. Afterwards, everything was working as it should with the most recent update.
