A Reddit post rumors AppleTV Live TV end of June.

Other sources have mentioned it as well. Since ‘end-of-June’ is close, will Amazon/Roku/all-the-others be next? Not sure why Android TV and iOS were chosen first – larger market share?

Excited about Apple TV update… Also I wish I could start watching live shows that are currently recording before they end!

I think that was published around June 1st.

Since part of what was said in the article has already come to pass, it lends a great deal of credence to all of what was said.

Unfortunately there was no mention of Amazon FireTV and Roku. Still, Apple TV and Android mobile should be coming soon. There are only two days left in the month.

Naturally it is possible that the development team could have hit a snag that will delay the release for Apple TV and Android mobile but one can still hope.

Can’t this already be done on supported devices?

Just tried this from iPad and I can’t find a way to view recordings before they’ve finished. If you start watching Live TV of a channel you are already recording another tuner will not be used and it will give you the timeshifting functionality but only back to the point you started watching the LiveTV and not prior to that.

Yeah I just tried it myself. That is unfortunate. One can only hope they will address this because that is a fairly basic feature for a lot of DVRs.
