I have to say Plex has improves A LOT in matching titles, it really did compared to what it was able to deliver say 5 years ago.
Now I have a little question in regards this topic as now and again some titles are still not matched automatically:
1- Is there (e.g. could we have) a way to clearly identify what titles in the library are not matched? I currently usually spot them looking at the title name (as matching normally replaces this), but this is not a precise way to do things… Perhaps we should have a filter by unmatched?
2- When I open an unmatched title and selecting the manual match procedure: I’m very surprised to find out that the very first title suggested is 99.99999% of the time the correct one. Really impressive…But the question raises naturally: why was that title not matched automatically?
Is this a library which has been converted to the new agent?
If so, was the “Refresh Metadata” procedure performed afterwards? If not, some items can end up in an undefined state.
2 - My agent and scanner are set to “Plex Movies”. The issue I’m reporting applies mainly to newly added media so I doubt the refresh metadata would be effective for future titles>
