Can you post the link for 32 and 64 bits so i can update the readme please?
Iāve the same problem , the scanner seems to be ācorruptedā very quickly, I have to replace the file with a ānewā one. For instance the linked file doesnāt work anymore.
EDIT : seems I canāt join the file, so here it is : http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/temp2/Absolute%20Series%20Scanner.py
But Iām pretty sure itās plex screwing it up, as for a long time I had no problem. Some update along the way started this.
File looks good to me. I believe the pyc generated from the scanner py file is not generated anymore and replacing the file regenerates itā¦
I wish i could prevent that but the error seem plex related. I wonder if itās linked to the dll error seen as wellā¦
For the record, yeah Iāve no .pyc generated, even when I replace the ācorruptedā scanner.
itās me again :o
No problem since my last post, and before I had to replace the file multiple times in a week. I donāt know, maybe a windows update fixed a strange behavior⦠Keep fingers crossed.
I canāt seem to get the scanner to work on my unRAID installation. I copied all the files to the correct locations but I keep getting an ERROR - No module in Absolute Series Scanner
I attached that full scanner log below. Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind. Seems Iām an idiot. Somehow I copied that Scanner file incorrectly. Not sure how that happened.
If you did have html/xml tags at the beginning you right clic on github and saved the page and not the file itself. Worry not scale01, you are not alone
It seems that the scanner is not working anymore? It wonāt update my library, even If I create a new one it wonāt recognize any of my files. I tried with Plex Series Scanner and it works.
Also, I downloaded the last version of the scanner and still not working.
Why is nobody following the readme? i included install update and troubleshooting instructionsā¦
1 - please read the thread, it has been discussed multiple times
2 - please read the scanner readme troubleshooting section (link in my signature)

Sure, Sorry for the late response, I havenāt been on the plex forums lately.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
Version 14.0.24212 for both X64 and x86 are the latest versions that were installed on 8/18/2016 for the x64 version and for the x86 version that was installed 8/31/2016.
I also seem to have a problem with the scanner I guess, I tried to use the [tvdb4] feature on some of my anime series but what comes up in plex is a giant season of the anime that Iāve attached the [tvdb4-xxxxxxxx] to. Iāve tried it with Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, One Piece, Naruto, and Naruto Shippuuden. All of which have one giant season 1 compiled of all episodes of their series.
Actually for Dragon Ball, I guess it worked but its broken up into different seasons per title in the page that houses all my anime on plex, So I have 3 different Dragon Ballās all with different seasons. I believe I can just merge the 3 correct?
@TrixR4K1ds thanks for the link. I updated the readme. not sure if the run times are cumulative thoughā¦
tvdb3 use tvdb seasons but leaving the abs ep number
tvdb4 does make absolutely numbered episodes gather metadata in any season arrangement, including sagas as seasons.
If you leave all eps in a single folder without seasons, and the mapping isnāt in the XML file [rawgit.com/ZeroQI/Absolute-Series-Scanner/master/tvdb4.mapping.xm] then you get the exact ep and season numbering you have, which is all files in one default season 1
Scanner call - root: āH:\Animeā, path: āDragon Ballā, dirs: ā9ā, files: ā2ā
Scanner call - root: āH:\Animeā, path: āDragon Ball [tvdb4-76666]ā, dirs: ā0ā, files: ā155ā
TVDB season mode (4) enabled, serie url: āhttp://rawgit.com/ZeroQI/Absolute-Series-Scanner/master/tvdb4.mapping.xmlā
āDragon Ball [tvdb4-76666]ā s0009e151 (Orig: s1e151) āDragon Ball - 151 - Outrageous Octagon.mkvā āOutrageous Octagonā
āDragon Ball [tvdb4-76666]ā s0009e152 (Orig: s1e152) āDragon Ball - 152 - Mystery of the Dark World.mkvā āMystery of the Dark Worldā
āDragon Ball [tvdb4-76666]ā s0009e153 (Orig: s1e153) āDragon Ball - 153 - The End, The Beginning.mkvā āThe End, The Beginningā
Work as designed, scanner does put dragon ball eps in the right season.
You may have another dragon ball folder but itās already with seasons
The following have all eps in one folder and 81472|79275|79824|81797|79824 arenāt in the xml file so leaving all in season 1 as designed
- Dragon Ball Z [tvdb4-81472]
- Dragon Ball GT [tvdb4-79275]
- Naruto [tvdb4-79824]
- One Piece [tvdb4-81797]
- Naruto Shippuuden [tvdb4-79824]
- ā¦
If you give me the ep range and saga name per serie i will add back to the xml file or you can write your own local mapping file, but again, this mode is for seasons not matching anything to still work, and especially using sagas as seasons instead

I updated https://github.com/ZeroQI/Absolute-Series-Scanner/blob/master/tvdb4.mapping.xml BUT you could have build your own local file ātvdb.mappingā inside serie folder and attached them here,i would have included them in the xml but saved me time⦠loads⦠Infos are in the readme for format.
Please try now, it should move eps to proper seasons representing the sagas and reply with the result ā¦
My .plexignore files donāt work. Will this be fixed soon, because my library is being filled up with extras like picture dramas and OPs/EDs.
AniDB naming is supported for OP/EDs are supported and they are mapped as season 0 normally.
If you move your extras to a subfolder named āExtrasā they will be skipped
the old alpha version of my scanner did support .plexignore, not the new one.
Plex scanner supports .plexignore files tooā¦
I have no plan to add the support, the function is marginal in its use, and i support most extras files and users can move them to āExtrasā folder to skip themā¦

Thank you for your help.
Just so I can make sure, I donāt need to put that file in my Plex server folder on my computer right? It will get it from the online database from that link XML you made? Or do I misunderstand something, I just recently found out about this feature of sorting anime this way, So I donāt know.
@TrixR4K1ds read the readme, really. In short it will take it locally first but you didnāt create a local file, then from github so just rescan and thatās it. It should move the files as by magic into the seasons you gave me and that i added to the online file⦠Just rescan and confirm the magic works as expected for every serie, as it should.
