Absolute Series Scanner (for anime mainly)

@percysnoodle Currently logs for beta branch are moved to the hama agent data folders to group them together

Thanks! Here are the logs.

ā€œDoctor Who (1963) s00e02 [tvdb4-76107-s129e01].m4vā€ make no sense, guids is for serie folder or id file, not episodes

updated error message and code to solve ā€œError opening remote tvdb4.mapping.xml, Exception: ā€˜local variable ā€˜temp’ referenced before assignmentā€™ā€
local file is tvdb4.mapping, not tvdb4.mapping nor an xml file, just mappings like:

    01|001|012|The First Barrage
    02|013|024|The Second Barrage
    03|025|029|Roberta's Blood Trail

OK, thanks. What filename would you give to that episode - which is the 602nd in absolute terms - so that it gets put in the right folder for Serial 129 but still gets the metadata for s00e02?

What about the files in the Doctor Who 2005 folder? How should I name them so that they get the metadata from the 2005 show, but get put in folders for the 1963 show?

Thanks,

–
Simon

@percysnoodle :The [tvdb4-76107-s129e01] is ignored. please update to the scanner and agent latest beta branch, and attach logs again. There was a variable error for the local mapping. It will however move absolute numbering in seasons while keeping the ep number. tvdb5 was built for star wars anime whose first ep was s02e06 from memory… Might show up ok. if you label using absolute numbering (s01exxx or xxx or xxxx) then you can put manually a season per ark OR have the tvdb4.mappin local file put it up in seasons for you, but they will still need absolute numbering

Hi, is possible that scanner add chapters of subfolder at main folder of a Anime?

Ex:

Main folder:

Anime —> Boruto Naruto Next Generations [tvdb2-321285] and in there:

A folder name like this: Boruto - Naruto Next Generations - 24

because i need to extrac from folder and move .mkv to Boruto Naruto Next Generations [tvdb2-321285] to get added to plex

That is an ark/series/book folder.
You can see in the source the regex for this type of folders. Text in
[brackets] gets ignored if needed

I’m having issues with the scanner not taking what I’m putting on the folder name. This one is for Code Geass Boukoku no Akito. I named my folder as Code Geass Boukoku no Akito [anidb-7508] and when I update my library, I get Code Geass Soubou no Oz Picture Drama with 5 episodes showing as specials.

Tried anidb2-7508 with no luck.

@silentcid this title ā€œCode Geass Soubou no Oz Picture Dramaā€ is not in anidb title file database. if the episodes show as specials then their file naming is at fault. really need the scanner log there…

My scanner in PLex has stopped adding new content into my Anime library. The Scanner log indicates that the media gets scanned, but when I look for it in my plex Anime folder it has not been added. The example is Shingeki no Bahamut - Virgin Soul. I have attached the logs. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Please ignore the attachments above. I pasted them too soon. Please see the attached log below.

Fixed it myself by using the Legacy scanner instead.

@vulcan300 sorry for the delay in answering. scanner logs show no crash, so most likely a plex issue, would be solved by plex dance most likely or scanner previously crashed and now detect no change in folders but would add new content in that case… Couldn’t see a crash in your logs so i believe corrupted plex database needing the plex dance. Changing scanner could force refresh the detection and fix…

Hi Zero,

I’m having some trouble getting an episode to match correctly. When the series is found it gives the title [anidb-4812] instead of the show title, ā€œNegima!? Natsu Special!?ā€ and does not show any data like art/covers etc.

If I manually match, it also only finds the title as anidb-4812.

I have this setup exactly the same for ā€œNegima!? Haru Special!?ā€ which presents no problems and looks identical on anidb.

I’ve attached logs. Hope you can help

Edit: Looks like my problem is with Hama and not ASS. Never mind this for now.

correct hama crashes therefore not changint the title. if file shows in plex scanner is ok…
i need agent logs, update to latest beta first though, corrected a few last few days

Having trouble with tvdb4 mode, attempting to override online https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroQI/Absolute-Series-Scanner/master/tvdb4.mapping.xml with local tvdb4.mapping (to change season/arc/saga definitions). I made a ā€œtvdb4.mappingā€ file at …/media/anime/Dragon Ball Super [tvdb4-295068]/ with the following content:

01|001|014|God of Destruction Beerus Saga
02|015|027|Golden Frieza Saga
03|028|046|Universe 6 Saga
04|047|076|Future Trunks Saga
05|077|077|Universe Survival Saga (unknown length)

I made sure Hama and ASS were up to date with the master branch. I’ve attached logs created from a fresh and reduced library (ā€œAnimeTestā€). Forum wouldn’t let me attach tvdb4.mapping file, but it’s exactly as above. Any ideas?

P.S. Donated! Great tool, been using it for years.

Heyo, the Beta branch version worked! I must have been updating it incorrectly. Cloned the whole repo with Sourcetree just to ensure I was using the right version. :stuck_out_tongue:

@tyblu been doing beta branch for some time, fixed quite a bit in there… Will merge soon. You can even specify the meta source order per field in settings, so will please most people. Thanks for the donation, very much appreciated

Ran into trouble with both the old/legacy ASS/HAMA as well as the beta (trying it out on my test Plex server for the first time today).

Starting out with the legacy scanner, I tried to add a series using anidb2 tagging and in Plex it just shows up as a blank/unknown series. It should be added as Season 1 for a series I already had some episodes of Season 2 as, so the tvdb series already exists. Here’s what I see in the logs for that one:

I can manually go to that github link and it pulls up the xml with no issues, so not sure why it throws the SSL CERTIFICATE VERIFY FAILED error all of a sudden. If I go to the ā€œ./Plug-in Support/Data/com.plexapp.agents.hama/DataItemsā€ folder I can see the anime-list-corrections.xml still seems to be from last year, which may or may not be related.

=====

Now, going on to the beta scanner I’m trying out on my test server. I loaded up a few series in there to try it out, specifically the [grouping] functionality to divide my massive anime folder into subfolders (back as I had it before, if you remember). I’m using beta branches of both ASS & HAMA from github. It seems to scan and match all the series fine but just ignores the [anidb2-XXXXX] tagging and loads them all as individual series rather than grouping them into tvdb series with multiple seasons.

Took me a bit to find the new location for _Logs, but was able to locate and will attach it zipped up here.
