Both audio formats are transcoded to AAC for no good reason, both are compatible with Samsung TV’s. Especially AC-3 and E-AC-3.
VC-1 is also definetely compatible but plex won’t play it, samsung holds a chunk of patents for it. You can check the playback with the native player using DLNA.
PCM i believe is also being converted to AAC.
I have a question, when multichannel audio is transcoded to AAC, does it keep the same channel mappings? Playback Information doesnt specify anything but I imagine its implied.
Were the 2021 Samsungs the ones that have a bug with videos and multiple audio streams where the audio track selection API provided by Samsung doesn’t work on that hardware forcing Plex to transcode those audio formats to AAC? Some combination of those search terms should find an answer in these forums. In either case sorry to hear your nice TV isn’t playing well with Plex.
Your other questions about PCM and AAC specifics would be a guess. So I’ll defer.
