Accentuated characteres bug for trailers on Synology NAS

Server Version#: 1.43.0.10389
Hello,

I currently manage my movies library with TinyMediaManager. When I add a movie with accented characters, Plex correctly detects the movie but detect two trailers including one fake,

Plex is installed on a Synology NAS with DSM 7.2.

The name of the trailer following the schema -trailer.ext,

I upload and manage movies on the NAS from a shared folder from Windows.

I read some informations on internet that this could be caused by the Unicode encoding system NFC NFD…

What I don’t understand is that Plex correctly detects movies but does not correctly detect trailers with the same special characters.

Would you mind sharing a sample of the file names where you experience this (e.g the full listing how the files show up on your Synology’s file station app) and how the result shows up inside Plex?

Happy new year !

Here some screen shots :

From Windows shared folder

From Synology File station :

From Plex :

If you select the first trailer :

Try refreshing the metadata for the movie.

If that does not help, Plex Dance the movie (the entire movie folder, not just the movie file).

I tested on my servers, using the file names below, Plex correctly matches the movie and shows only one trailer. If I enable Find extras for the library, Plex also displays the online trailers.

I also tested with movies with ö and ü in the name. They also worked correctly.

PMS 1.42.2.10156 and 1.43.0.10389, both on Ubuntu Linux.

Edit: Also OK on my DS918+/DSM 7.2.2/PMS 1.43.0.10389.

Thank you very much tom80H and FordGuy61 for your help. Having the same NAS (DS918) and having done numerous tests with file names containing accented characters, this led me to look elsewhere and finally find the source of the problem.

I use TinyMediaManager to manage my library. TMM generates an nfo file that is read in Plex using the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter module. I disabled the “enable trailer support” option, which removed duplicate trailers when there are accented characters in files names:
