Acces outside of my network config problems

I have the latest version of plex installed on my qnap. My router is UPnP enabled. I have forwarded the port 32400 using my servers IP address and it still will not allow me to access outside of my network.

I disabled my firewall too and no luck.

I have to be missing something . Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks in advance.

Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

https://support.plex.tv/articles/200931138-troubleshooting-remote-access/

There’s also a guide with some more details

I think the issue is with the tmobile home modem that can not be set to bridge mode. I am just spitballing here but when I first set everything up it says that it can be accessed outside the network. Then in about 3 seconds it says that it can not.

Ignore that brief moment where your remote access seems to work.
The remote access status indicator will be displayed as “working”/green while it’s running a check if the connection is actually working. Therefore consider your setup isn’t working in the first place.

hmm. I have done everything in the troubleshoot article. The only thing that I can not do is get into that T-mobile modem

Are you using T-Mobile wireless internet service?

That uses CG-NAT addressing, which is incompatible with Plex remote access, as it places Plex in a double-NAT situation.

Plex Relay should work, but will be limited to 2 Mbps.

I have not seen a good “how to” guide on making Plex remote access work via a CG-NAT network (Does not mean a solution is not available, I just haven’t seen one).

Hopefully someone can provide a good pointer to get Plex working on a CG-NAT network.
