Access only via web plex, all TV PLEX blocked

Greetings folks, first of, thank you for all your hard work, plex is amazing!
I have just experienced a problem, my home server is fine, plex works, but anyone outside my home, cannot access my plex via thier TV, only the plex web app on thier PC, my remote server is a green tick:

You can access this server from signed-in Plex apps or in a browser at https://plex.tv/web.

This might be related to the SSL threads that have been filling up the forum homepage all day.

What TV specifically are they using? As far as I’ve read, some models made as recently as 2017 aren’t getting a security update from the manufacturer to allow the Plex app to run securely on it. The fix is probably to disable secure connections, but strongly don’t advise doing this since they’re connecting over the internet.

If you poke around in some of the other threads you might find some other helpful info, I think there’s an official news thread about this too somewhere.

Get user to go to settings in plex and then to advanced.

Change allow unsecured connections to always.

If this doesn’t work for all users then you will have to do the same on your server settings

I am still having the same or similar issues with LG TV’s outside of my network.
Changing the Secure Connection to Disabled seems to knock any IOS device from accessing my server.
Disabling the Relay option also prevents any IOS device from accessing the server.
This issue all started at midnight on the 30-09-21.

It should be set to “Preferred” (default) on the Plex media server. On the LG tv you set unsecured to “Always” under the Plex settings.
