Basically i noticed that while the same episode on different servers normally gets the same GUID i have seen cases where the same episode has different GUIDs as well. I assume that GUID points to metadata about the show or episode on the plex servers that the media agent pulls so i am hoping someone could share the url and format to be able to pull that data given a plex GUID like the one above. TV Shows have IDs to the TVDB series etc so you can use other external sources for them but episodes seem to only have the plex GUID on them hence i want to pull that data from source to see all the data that is there not the cache on my media server.
wow does no one know how the plex id’s work from the new scanners? From what i have seen shows basically always end up with the same plex://show/xxxx over servers, seasons also look to match most of the time but the plex://episode/xxxxx have a much higher rate of being different and i would really like to know why and if there is a way to access the info linked to that ID so i can know why one was picked over another between the servers and so i can link them together over servers.

Thanks @SwiftPanda16 that was exactly what i was looking for. The mismatch of the ID’s is also starting to make sense as it seems one set of ID’s are based around TVDB and the other IMDB at least that is happening at the season level.
Episode seems to be a little different though as both have tvdb and one one has imdb id on it so maybe that is why they are different i guess. very strange.

@SwiftPanda16 would you happen to know if there is a way to update the dates on an episode /series/movie for when it was last viewed, added etc via API? I really want to avoid manipulating the databases directly and prefer the API’s but i created a new server that i want to get in sync with my old ones but of course everything shows as added in last few days and all is watched in last few days so continue watching etc is stuffed and i would like to make it the same as the other servers if possible
