Accessing Plex from Sonos

Server Version#: 1.18.3.2156
Player Version#: Sonos 10.6
Windows 10

I have a Sonos system which accesses my music library through Plex. Everything was fine until I got a new laptop. I installed Plex and Sonos on my new laptop, and now when I try to play music through Sonos, I get this error message: “Unable to contact the Plex Media Server. Please check your server settings at plex.tv and make sure that Remote Access is enabled.” I checked, and Remote Access is enabled.

I also have Eset Internet Security. I thought that was the problem, but I created rule to allow all Plex and Sonos traffic through the firewall, but it made no difference.

I’m at my wit’s end. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Can you try temporarily disable Eset and then trying?

With Eset enabled, can you reach your Plex server remotely? (try from a mobile device without wifi if you have one.)

Thanks for your response, but that didn’t work. I turned off all Eset protection, but I got the same error message when I tried to play music.

Hi Darcilious

I have opened up a new thread related to a SONOS bug, as per your suggestion, and for the last months have received no reply for anyone from Plex.
