'Accessing Trailers' issue after already watching via PlexConnect

Hey All,

Hoping someone can help me out with an issue I seem to be having recently.

I can connect my ATV3 to PlexConnect without any issues, however, once I finish watching a TV Show/Movie, instead of returning me to the menu to navigate around it gets stuck on the 'Accessing Trailers' screen.

It's really frustrating because if I shut down terminal, then re-open it to run PlexConnect again it comes up with an error "WebServer: Failed to connect to HTTP on 10.0.0.3 port 80: [Errno 48] Address already in use" which means I have to restart the computer to re-connect.

After the restart, I'll be able to run PlexConnect without a problem, the ATV3 connects no problem  but then after watching the next episode, I'll have to reboot everything again as it gets stuck on the 'Accessing Trailers'.  :(

Any ideas? This has just started happening recently, was working without issue for a few weeks since I set it up initially.

Thanks.

You need to provide more info on your setup, see the sticky for details.

I don't know whether this is related, but it sounded like a similar issue which is why I added this here:

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): aTV2 5.2 (6105)

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS): 192.168.168.68

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: HP N40 Microserver running FreeNAS 9.1.1 (a752d35)

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 192.168.168.68

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: HP N40 Microserver running FreeNAS 9.1.1 (a752d35)

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'): 0.9.8.6

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 192.168.168.67

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one. Github download on 3rd November 13

  • The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file (if you do not have this file you are running an old version, please update)

  • Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file (in order to get the necessary information on a particular media file go into the Plex web interface, select the video file, when it brings up the page for the media file click on the "i" information button on the left hand side, it will then bring up a "media info" box, click on the "View XML" button, it will then open a browser window with the relevant information, copy this to http://www.pastebin.com and use the pastebin link to post the details; posting the information directly in the forum may mess up the formatting and generally takes up a lot of space): This isn't happening on a specific media file

  • detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):  PlexConnect is working fine, and the Plex menu is displayed as soon as I click on the trailers app.  I have two media shares set-up - Movies (~2.2TB in 300 files) and TV Shows (~1.4TB in 3000 files).  When I click into Movies I get the Accessing Trailers and spinning wheel for about 5 seconds and then it displays the On Deck screen.  If I play something from there it tends to start within a few seconds.  If I click the TV Shows I get the Accessing Trailers and spinning wheel for about 5-10 seconds, and then it displays the On Deck screen, but then I get the Accessing Trailers and spinning wheel and it doesn't display any of the media.  I only started using this on my FreeNAS box earlier this month, as I didn't realise you could run PlexConnect in a jail.  It was working fine but this appears to have started over the last few days.  Other than marking quite a lot of media as watched (I didn't migrate PMS so everything was unwatched) and adding a few series I had stored elsewhere (ran out of space on my old NAS) I haven't changed the Plex configuration.

  • Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link ('PlexConnect.log' is located in your PlexConnect folder). If possible, follow these steps to create a "more detailed fresh" one: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=DigsbBAk

UPDATE - I was playing around this morning in Plex/Web and noticed the options for Force Refresh and Analyse in the More menu.  I've run both of these on TV Shows and Movies and the aTV client is playing nicely again.  Not sure why it was just a problem on the aTV (OSX and iOS clients were both working fine) but problem solved.  Might be worth a shot for the OP?
