"Accessing Trailers"

I have noticed that all the people demoing plexconnect on youtube etc have not had load time issues at all.  I am having an issue where all navigation has a delay.  This is on both gigabit ethernet and wifi.  Trailers constantly say "Accessing Trailers".  Is there a reason there is a delay on my setup - is there a way to get this to load faster.  This is most noticeable under "All Movies", going into the movie details, and playing the movie.  Each load time ranges from All movies being 5-6 seconds.  Details being 3 seconds and playing being 5-6 seconds.

Setup:

ATV3 w/ Plexconnect DNS Server disabled (Using router to dnsmasq).  Same happens using DNS Server as well so not the cause.

Server: Quad Core i5 w/ 4GB Ram connected via ethernet gigabit.

Library: 1020~ mkv files all locally stored on the server on the same switch.

You don’t really provide any real information to help us help you find the issue. Follow the “read before Posting” pinned thread specifically the section on how to report a problem and make sure you include a log file with Loglevel = High.

Also try doing an optimize in your plex database to see if that helps

I tried the optimize option it did nothing.  Also I read the "read before Posting" thread and it did not indicate anything additional that would "help".  I have a High level log running now and i will post it after a few minutes of use.

I cut some of the movie scanning out in that log but it is attached now.

The "Read Before Posting" Thread provides a template for you on what is needed in reporting an issue.  Without this its like pulling teeth to get information.  Please provide it so we can help you immediately, not after hundreds of questions.

I also not on another post you say you are not not using plexconnect for DNS, did this slowness only start after this change?

Again the more precise and complete information provided helps us help you.

No the problem existed before the DNS change.

Glad I took the time to post the "proper way" as it has provided no additional support....

You have posted questions and issues all over the place and unfortunately this thread got lost.

additionally you posted a log file with 111629 line, I don't know that anyone really has the time to try and digest it.

We really need a distinct log that is only for the issue you are seeing (IE slowness in this case)  So stop plexconnect, start plexconnect (Therefore new log is created)

visit the screens that give you slowness.  Stop plexconnect and then post the log.

Also some information about your PMS may be required.  CPU, Wired/Wireless, Router setup etc.

The log covered a whopping 3 minutes of time.  Long enough to show the issue I was having and nothing more.  The additional information you just requested is stated in the original post.

1000 files in one section is a lot. The XMLConverter - and now especially when having set loglevel=High needs a couple of seconds to work the PMS XML into a version fitting for aTV. I can easily see that you will see some lag, or the spinning wheel on aTV when requesting a "All Movies" page. Try setting loglevel=Off, which basically prevents further debugging, but should speed up the response.

My question is... do you also see those delays when navigating within PlexConnect/settings? If yes, this would point to some slow network communication. Or OS/Firewall that slows down things considerably.

The settings menu has no lag.  The TV menu has almost no lag.  It is just my "Movies" library that has lag.  Is it possible for some sort of cache to be created so the xml converter does not have to run at that time.  Perhaps set an option to pre-update the xmlconverter's cache every x seconds?
