Having DNS Issues

Plexconnect was working 90% for me just a couple days ago (not loading thumbnails or very slow loading of thumbnails was the broken 10%) and now it won’t work at all.

Right now I can browse around the interface, which loads fine and quickly 80% of the time, with no thumbnails whatsoever (not even for my “Movies” and “TV Shows” library).

It will be stuck on “Accessing Trailers” if I click on a file to play (either using select to see metadata or using play to jump straight to playing). It will also sometimes break by just trying to access another interface page (say TV Shows library), doing the same “Accessing Trailers” thing. When either of these happen I watch the log screen and nothing comes up. No requests, no errors, nothing. Sometimes it will give “accessing trailers” when I select trailers from the home screen and not load plex at all. Here is the log from when that happens.

When I leave it for upwards of 5 minutes on the “Accessing Trailers” message it will sometimes eventually see a DNS request and sometimes will load the page. I have yet to successfully load a media file, though.

Also, thumbnails for everything else won’t load properly when going through the DNS. Netflix and iTunes load some thumbnails but not all. Videos play fine from Netflix and all pages load, sometimes slowly. It seems like the DNS server is only seeing some of the requests, but thats just a guess.

Computer is Windows 8.1 Pro, also running sickrage and couchpotato but plexconnect gives no errors binding to ports 80 and 443. PMS Version 0.9.11.7, plexconnect 0.5-dev, ATV 2 running iOS 6.2.1.

The real kicker for me is I never get any errors on plexconnect or the Apple TV. It just simply doesn’t load. I have tried a fresh plexconnect install and creating/loading a new certificate. I’ve also tried an untouched settings.cfg and also one where I specify the PMS IP and changed the outgoing DNS server. I don’t know what else to try… Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance

Your log shows nothing. Just a discovery of a server. Why cut so much out? Or if you didn’t then you need to set Loglevel=High and do it all again. Also try rebooting the ATV, as when I have similar issues it’s the ATV that is at issue not plexconnect

Others programs using the port(s) maybe ?

Does plexconnect broadcast to the local ip ?
