So I woke up this morning to find emails saying my account was accessed from a new device in the States (Im in Australia) -
A new device was used to sign in to your Plex account:
Account: Device: Plex Website** Location: Milpitas, California, United States (estimated)** IP address: 99.67.20.24**
Then one saying my email address has been changed.
It said if it was not me then to click a link, which i did, only to get a LINK has expired error.
I would like to say I have just payed the lifetime payment to assist in the dev of Plex because I think it is great software.
But now my account has been snatched away from me.
I’m guessing if this was a free account this would not have happened.
Very disappointed.
What’s more there doesn’t seem to be a support line for this kind of thing?
I had to create a second account to just write in here.
While the geo-mapping of an IP address can be pretty far off (given IP addresses are not reflecting a certain geography) – that change of your account’s e-mail address is a big red light.
Your account shows it was already reverted back via the link in notification email. have you tried a password reset via the forgot password link? https://app.plex.tv/auth#?resetPassword
Thank you again BigWheel I will have a look at that.
I am currently faced with another issue.
While I have access to my account I cannot access Plex Media Server.
It keeps asking me to download which i do and restart, and then it repeats.
I read on another forum post that a second account can create conflict (I had to create a second account to access the forums.) - so I changed the appropriate regedit emails. (x2) but still without any success.
