Account sign out: Looking for servers

Server Version#: 1.15.2.793

Hi there,

I’m really stuck after trying several things and don’t know how to fix the issue I have with Plex Media Server.

I have a Synology DS918+ with 8GB of RAM that was running Plex Media Server version 1.14.1.5488. About a week or so ago, the option to upgrade the software was greyed out.

I logged in to my sever remotely today and signed out of my Plex account. I closed the web browser and re-opened, then entered my sever address into the browser. When it loaded, it could not find the server and said ‘Looking for servers…’.

I uninstalled Plex, installed the latest version then tried again but still had the same message.

I uninstalled Plex again, deleted the following folder: \Plex\Library\Application Support, then installed Plex again but I’m still receiving the same message ‘Looking for servers…’.

I am not connected locally to my network but tried connecting via VPN to my home network, thinking this could be an issue with me connecting remotely. Unfortunately I still have the same issue.

I have tried re-booting my Router and Synology NAS. My NAS is connected to a Netgear unmanaged switch which is connected to my Router. I haven’t been able to re-set my unmanaged switch yet as I’m not at home.

I have tried disabling the firewall on my Synology NAS and disabling DoS and account protection but still have the same issue. Port 32400 is also accessible from inside and outside my network.

I have tried installing by downloading the SPK file from the Plex website and also tried installing using the Synology Package Center. Both present the same issue.

I have also tried the steps in the following topic but it didn’t work:

Any help anyone could offer would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks tumpy81. Really appreciate your help.

I was able to find the server when I connected locally from home. Back up and running again.

Thanks,

Chris
