I am not streaming outside the home, everything is on CAT6 inside the home.
I am trying to add a ‘Music Videos’ folder under my ‘Music’ Library.
I followed this article (and scanned related articles, but haven’t found a solution);
I am following the section under (because I want a separate folder for all music videos) ‘Global Music Videos Folder’.
I set the folder under ‘Settings’ → ‘Extras’ and set the ‘Global music videos path’ to this;
/Music Videos
Initially I had it set to the full Windows UNC path name, but that didn’t work either;
\MovieTheater\HomeTheater\Music\Music Videos
(notice the forward and backslashes, neither one worked when changed, not sure what is correct).
Then under a Windows Explorer session, I have this as examples (folders show up 1st in the list, than individual videos);
Folder list example;
BLONDIE
Blondie - Heart of Glass-video.mkv
Blondie - The Tide is High-video.mkv
JOHNNY CASH
Johnny Cash - Glastonbury (1994)-live.mp4
Johnny Cash - Live in Denmark (1971)-live.mp4
QUEEN
Queen - Wembley Stadium-concert.mp4
Then random individual music videos (examples);
Van Halen - Panama-video.mpg
We Banjo 3 - Happiness-video.mp4
Zac Brown Band - Toes-video.mp4
ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin-video.mp4
ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man-video.mp4
Now when I go back to my Home Page under the PINNED ‘Music’ section, I have my viewing set to ‘Folders’, I than navigate to my ‘Music Videos’ folder, then I go under ‘BLONDIE’ folder (note: all other folders and individual files also don’t show up, same message), Plex says;
‘Empty Folder’
There are no items in this folder
When I go to my TV and navigate to that same folder, it says the same thing.
I also have an ‘MP3’ folder, under this PINNED ‘Music’ folder, I can see and play all my Mp3’s on the TV, Plex seems to see these and categorizes them correctly.
What am I doing incorrectly, I believe I have followed the instructions to the letter, but I can’t seem to get this working.
