Hello, I’d like to Add NAS server to Plex Server app (on my new PC) but i don’t find where is the option. I received a message saying that Plex wasn’t directly connected to the NAS. Thanks in advance.

I know how to do that by adding a library. But the software is asking me to add a server. For the moment i have juste my pc in the list Yes i watch movies on NVIDIA SHIELD with plex

I installed Plex Media Server on my PC (version 4.147.1) and on my NAS server in the Package Center (version 1.41.5.9626-70009626). I only have one NAS server. Thanks

Okay. Can you access both servers locally (from within the same network/subnet) using their bundled web app? I suppose it should work with the server installed on your PC (as you mentioned you can still see/access that one from your Plex player app). For the PC → browse to http://127.0.0.1:32400…

Yes it’s the same. The problem is that i don’t know how to add a server in PLEX.

I found a workaround. I create a library in Plex and then go to Windows File Explorer. There, I find the path to the NAS and the folder I want, copy the address, and paste it into the settings of the library I created in Plex.

Which model? Control Panel → Info Center → Model name.

Which version of DSM? Control Panel → Info Center → DSM version.

EDIT: Is this the same DS918+/DSM 7.2 from your October 2025 thread?

If so, is Plex no longer working correctly on the NAS, did you remove & re-install Plex, etc.?

Just trying to understand the situation.
