I’m having an issue with my Roku Ultra (2024) running the latest Roku OS version. When I browse movies or TV shows in Plex, the “Add to Watchlist” option is no longer showing up on the title screen.
Here’s my setup:
Roku Ultra 2024 (latest firmware)
Plex Media Server running on Windows 10
Server version: 4.145.1 (latest)
The weird thing is, when I watch a trailer, the pop-up still shows the “Add to Watchlist” option and that works fine. It’s just the main option on the title screen that’s gone missing.
My wife and I use the watchlist feature all the time to queue up stuff we want to watch, and this issue just started showing up in the last week or two. Everything was working perfectly before that.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas on what might have changed or how to fix it?
Include Adult Content is checked for Movies Library. It is not checked for TV Library (which surprised me).
I noticed last night on the Roku that Watchlist is an option for TV shows & episodes. Not for Movies.
Tried just now toggling Include Adult Content on each Library. Didn’t affect whether Watchlist was an option for Movies or TV shows & episodes on web client. Not able to check Roku now, will tonight.
Note I’m running Plex Server version 4.145.1 on Debian. My Roku Ultra is older, don’t have year right now but it’s several years old.
Just so you know “include adult content” is essentially for porn. Not rated R movies. It generally is not needed. You may need to refresh metadata after disabling it.
Is the idea that if Include Adult Content is checked, Add to Watchlist is disabled or enabled? Is this a bug? Because I don’t see the connection.
Anyway, I disabled Include Adult Content for Movies. At first it made no difference. But I’ve been running Refresh All Metadata for Movies as suggested and even though it’s still processing, I was able to pull up a random Movie and Add to Watchlist was back.
Oh, that’s on the web client. I’ll look at the Roku tonight and report back if Add to Watchlist is still gone. Though I think that’s unlikely.
Yes, I’ve gone in and made the change - I unchecked the “allow matching content to explicit content” option and will refresh and have the libraries scanned again. I’ll let you know if it makes any difference.
But I still don’t understand what one thing has to do with the other. How does this setting affect my ability to add movies to a watch list? We don’t have any adult content or porn on our Plex server - this was for regular movies like Avatar or any of 100 other movies. This worked fine up until about two weeks ago, and I did have that box checked because, like markmarz, I thought it was for R-rated material.
I had to really dig to find that “allow matching content to explicit content” setting (see image attached below), and I’m not 100% sure this is what you were referring to. Your reply didn’t specify exactly where to look. If this isn’t the right setting, please let me know specifically where I need to make the change.
This is happening on my server when I’m running on my computer (Windows 10) and on the Roku.
