I have Plex installed on my MyCloudEX2Ultra NAS so I have my TV Shows Library pointing to
“/Shares/Plex/TV Shows” and this is working fine but I’m trying to add another Folder on a Network drive which is a WDMYCLOUD. I have folders set up on the MyCloud as “WDMYCLOUD/Plex/TV Shows” but I’m having trouble trying to navigate to that folder when I try to add the folder to my TV Shows Library. Any ideas?
You can type in the field manually if you are sure of the path. Though it sounds like you may have to share that directory with user plex
That’s my issue, I’m not sure how to do that. I also have Plex installed on my Windows Laptop and I can add the following folder using “\WDMYCLOUD\Plex\TV Shows” and that works but when I try to add “\WDMYCLOUD\Plex\TV Shows” on my WDMYCLOUD Network drive to my TV Shows library on my NAS “MyCloudEX2Ultra” it doesn’t see it.
So you have two media servers?
WDMYCLOUD Network drive
MyCloudEX2Ultra
are these two separate devices?
If the additional medioa are on a different device, you’d have to “mount” this network share into the file system of the device which has your Plex server running on it.
I don’t think that you can mount network shares in the WD MyCloud devices.
MyCloudEX2Ultra is a NAS running Plex and my other Plex server is on my Windows Laptop. These are separate to the WDMYCLOUD which is just a network drive that I was going to use for extra data I just can’t navigate to the network drive when trying to add the drive to the TV Shows library on the NAS.
Of course you can’t. This would require the NAS to support network shares.
The operating system of your NAS is Linux, not Windows.
That’s the reason why it works how it works.
On Windows, you can just type in a “UNC path” and then browse the network share.
In Linux this is different.
