This is so general, but why has it just gotten so hard to add friend to your plex account and share your library? They make a user account, you send a friend request, its excepted, you go to manager and add the library’s you want them to have and then we have issues… log out log in still don’t show up. remove them ass friends add again…still don’t work…sign out back in opp it works…why did this process get messed up?
How are you doing that? Are you not going to Manage Library Access settings and hitting the Grant library Access button . You should not need to be friends first before doing that.
Note: Being friends does not mean that you are sharing your library with them. It was a bit of “social media”-like stuff added a while back. Supposedly, you can see what your friends are watching, or get a history of it.
I’m not quite sure why you would want to be friends without sharing a library with them as well. But I suppose they assume that not everyone has a server of their own, but might still want to know what another friend is watching.
The new app/new accounts broke this. It will show “No access to libraries” for new accounts being created, even though they have them shared. Going to app.plex.tv shows the libraries correctly, but the new app and Android TV apps show an error or spin infinitely.
Doesn’t seem like this issue has been acknowledged officially yet (random workarounds like changing DNS or the device names have been suggested).
Inviting newly created users to libraries is broken if using the new app (which isn’t a choice for them by the looks). So I assume whatever new architecture is being used for new accounts isn’t working somewhere.
