Adding new Library to Music

When adding a new library to Music instead of making a separate library which is what I wanted, it added the files to my main Music library. How can I undo this? How do I make a separate library based on Music?
My Music library had over 3000 albums in it, it now has over 4000.

How did you go about adding the new library? If you edited the existing library and added a folder, like below, this would account for what you describe.

If you followed the ‘Add Library’ workflow, it should have created a new, distinct library. The opening screen looks like this:

The ‘Add Library’ function can be accessed via Settings > Manage > Libraries:

or by clicking ‘More’ at the bottom of the sidebar and hovering over the server name:

I thought I had added a new library but obviously I didn’t . Can I just undo the added files by clicking the X at the end of the folder name or will this delete the files as well?

Yep, just remove that folder you accidentally added from your Plex music library. It won’t delete the local files, but will remove them from Plex.
