Not sure how to fix this. I always install the latest update to plex server.
Album Art setting, yes. Genres no, but I also don’t have it enabled in existing libraries and they’re still working properly. Genres set to embedded tags. Prefer Local Metadata has always been my default for all music libraries. I will change that and see if it fixes things.
My music collection is comprised of audiophile flac files so I have multiple copies of the same albums. For that to work correctly, I have to add additional info to the album titles. That’s why I use Prefer Local Metadata. The artwork also varies from album to album, in most cases.
When I add new artists/albums to my existing mp3 libraries, they work as they should. I have used the same settings on the new flac libraries as those for the mp3 libraries. In the past, flac libraries worked as expected. This is only a recent issue with them. I deleted them and now added them back. Then the issue occurred.
Fanart does not seem to be pulling in data either.
When I add the flac files into the existing artists (mp3) libraries, everything works fine again. It seems to be an issue with adding only new libraries. I’ve just decided to mix both mp3 and flac together in the same libraries as I don’t have time to keep messing with it.
What are/were Scanner and Agent set to in the newly created library? (same place as the above settings)
Yes, I set them to the same settings as my working libraries before I added the directories.
Which settings, please.
These are the settings that work correctly for me on the old existing libraries. They do not work on newly created libraries.
Set both Scanner and Agent to ‘Plex Music’.
Alternatively, go to Settings - Server - Agents - Albums
and make sure that the line ‘Local Media Assets’ is in the topmost position.
That’s now pulling in the embedded albums covers. Will take a while to see if it pulls in images for the rest such as posters and backgrounds. Thanks.
I seem to have to keep re-scanning the library and refreshing metadata, over and over. Maybe it will eventually fill them all in.
