Adding user - Error 422

Server Version#: Latest
Player Version#: Web

Attempting to add a new user I received a 422 error, although the user (hotmail.com address) has never been added to the server previously. All research suggests the user already existed, but that is not the case.

Any ideas?

@CaptainKokanee

I am looking at your Plex.tv account.

I see 1 server, named “…-PlexServer”
It has a valid certificate.

May I see the DEBUG server logs you’re getting when you capture the server logs about 2 minutes after restarting PMS?

(I’ll reset your server certificate if need be)

You have run into a temporary block, most likely because you made too many changes ot your account/sharing in a small time span.
Wait a day, then try again – at a slower pace.

Here you are Chuck. Although the new user apparently received the invite, the error did occur after 3 attempts. Odd. Otherwise, Plex PMS is working just fine. Love your work team.

Good morning Otto. That’s odd. Didn’t many any changes in months, and this is the first user I’ve added in a year maybe? so, yeah… Odd. Thank you for commenting however. Appreciate it.

I was just looking through the logs myself, and apparently there’s a LOT that is wrong. Perhaps a fresh install backup/restore is in order. What are your thoughts Chuck? It seems to be functioning fine…

@CaptainKokanee

what do you consider to be wrong?

One thing I see is this player needs a full restart (it has the old certificate)

Looking at the “Plex Media Server.4.log” I saw a LOT of invalid fields, Transcode runner appears to have died,

These “seem” to not affect the wonderful Plex functionality, but concerning? This was a fresh install / migration not long ago, and even used the dbrepair to make sure the databases were intact and functioning perfectly.

Any recommendations would be great Chuck. Thank you.

I have restarted the VM by the way.

@CaptainKokanee

Let’s go through that. I’s not as bad as you think.

  1. You’re starting a playback which needs to transcode. PMS can’t find an iGPU so it’s searching for Nvidia (CUDA). It’s an indication that we need to go looking at the passthrough from the real host to the VM.

  2. Something isn’t right. It’s usually incorrect configuration in the VM passthrough.

And lots of these…

  1. Noise to ignore. You’re seeing new work on the Scanner & Library internals.
    – It specifically says “Ignoring” … So should you :sunglasses:

The fundamental question – How are you passing the GPU
