Lately, I get a 1-2 minute commercial ad prior to be able to watch my movie or TV program. I use a Tivo BOLT for streaming and am trying to determine how these ADS are embedded in my files?
Maybe you activated pre-movie Trailers?

Do the ads themselves appear in the files?
In other words, open the file in a computer, not in a Plex Client, and try playing it there. If there isn’t an ad there, then try playing the file on another Plex Client, to see if the ads show up there. Last but not least, take that now known good and play it on the Tivo and see if it plays an ad.
I think this might be a “feature” of the Tivo itself. These ads are very likely put in the stream from Tivo and not from anything in Plex. (They might be putting it into the stream since it’s a “free” way to use their product, without a subscription, so to speak.) You request the stream from your server, but somehow Tivo is hijacking it to put the adds in. (Like YouTube does.)
None of my streams include any sort of ads of any kind on any of my devices. If some of them suddenly started to do this, I would replace the device in a heartbeat! (Although I do get trailers and other features on the devices I have set up for viewing them on.) Part of the draw to Plex, at least for me, is NO COMMERCIALS! If they started appearing, time to move on.
