Playing 2 minute adverts before my home videos

I’ve been using Plex for 2 years and have the premium monthly subscription. I use it on iPads, iPhones and AppleTV, as well as web interface on PCs around the house.

Today it has started playing 2 minute adverts before it will play my home videos. Ie. family videos I recorded on my phone. This is happening on all the home videos I have, not just a few.

Never seen this before - can someone please enlighten me as to what’s going on?

Thanks

Have you maybe changed your Home video library into a regular movie library by changing the ‘Agent’ away from ‘Personal Media’ to something else?

How is the ‘trailer’ preference set on you clients? Is it set to more than 0 ?

Do you have an own Plex server? Or are you using someone else’s?

Thanks for your reply.

The settings for that library are ‘home video’.

I’ve not adjusted a setting on my clients, the majority of usage is AppleTV which I didn’t know there were client settings.

My own server, I don’t use any others.

There are no settings called like that.

Please verify by editing your library, go to the ‘Advanced’ tab. There are 2 dropdown selectors, labeled ‘Scanner’ and ‘Agent’. What is selected in them?
And above of these is a checkbox ‘Enable Cinema Trailers’. Is this checked? If so clear it, please.

Thank you.

Checkbox already off.
Agent is personal media

Ans you are absolutely positive, that you played stuff from this library, and not from a ‘Channel’ or something?

If you go to
Settings - Server - Extras - Show Advanced
is there something in the field ‘Cinema Trailers pre-roll video’ ?
If so, clear it out.

Apart from trailers and the above pre-roll video, Plex has no technical ability to insert any type of adverts.
So they must come from somewhere else.

What type of adverts where these? What kind of product was advertised?
Do these adverts appear on all Plex clients?
