whenever I try and fling content from my android phone (version 8.25.1.28703) to Plex HTPC or Plex Desktop, plex HTPC and Plex Desktop do not show up as available to fling to. However when I open the old (i think deptricated) PMP It shows up and I can fling content to it from my android phone. I have no clue why it works for PMP but not the newer more updated clients. On plex Desktop I have allowed insecure connections, ticked the box for “advertise as player” to on, allowed plex HTPC and Plex Desktop to go through the windows firewall on both private and public networks. and also ensured that the current network is marked as private.
What am I missing? I see a lot of people getting this to work on Plex HTPC and all there clients on windows, even plexamp, but I can’t seem to make them show up when I search for a player on my home network from my android phone to find a player on my windows computer. any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
