Advertisements

Okay, I am pretty upset about the new ads that are played while I am playing selections from my local library. If these ads don’t stop I will uninstall every PLEX product and install alternative software such as PlayOn in a heartbeat (I already have one PlayOn box that I paid a simple lifetime fee for without the monthly “PLexPass” junk). We get inundated by ads daily and I watch my local library of shows to not see the ads. Just stop with the ads on locally played media or your software will be uninstalled and a review of how I feel about your ads will be posted to 10’s of thousands of folks on social media.

Plex does not insert ads when playing your personal movies/shows/etc.

Make sure you have not accidentally selected a movie or show from the “Movies & TV on Plex” library. It can happen sometimes, especially if you’re using the search box and there is overlap between your personal libraries and the video on demand libraries.

So it’s a search problem. But I directly searched for the movie on MY server machine. I had to browse all the way down to make sure I didn’t have it.

As a friend pointed out, “ The plex client I downloaded for my android tv wants to look for online plex tv sources and not my plex server, and it displays ads. My old plex client on my Roku box that I haven’t updated sees my plex server just fine and doesn’t do any of that nonsense!!! “

So PLEX has screwed up the search option (“that sometimes happens” is NOT a good reason - puleeze), and isn’t indicating a fix in the works.
