this morning i have had two ads pop up on my paid android app. I run a plex server with a lifttime license.is this something thats a bug or is plex now going to go against there rules. after taking my money and make me watch bs ads, if so this will cause me to leave plex and try and go after a full refund of my moneys
where did the “ads” appear?
the only places ads should appear is when playing back the on-demand content that plex provides.
They had appeared on both website and Android app. The TV show I was watching is on my server and it’s my TV show…
sounds like you have issues outwith of plex if you are seeing ads, as plex don’t serve any ads anywhere other than on-demand content.

Ads
Plex does not insert ads into your personal media.
The free, online movies and TV media does contain ads.
On occasion, someone will accidently pick the online version of a movie/show instead of their personal version, and unexpectedly see adds in the media.
Notifications
If enabled, you may see notifications on your mobile device from Plex regarding new online content.
They can be disabled in Settings → Notifications → On demand & Live TV → Releases & Recommendations.
As said, plex doesn’t serve ads unless you are watching on demand content
If you are seeing ads elsewhere they are not coming from plex.
