I have a lifetime Plex Pass so I’m thinking this is a bug?
Did you run the server immediately from the update program?
Are you using a different, “non-Admin” Windows user account for regular working?
Log in to every Windows user account on your machine and make sure that the Plex tray icon is only present in your regular work account.
If you see it in a different user account, do a right-click on it and disable the auto-start of Plex.
Then log out of this user account and into the next.
Don’t use the “switch user” functionality of Windows!
Then log into your regular work account and reboot the machine.
This server is dedicated to Plex DVR with only one profile with Administrator level privilege.
I should note that all the Plex Pass functionality is good. It’s a DVR! It’s recording shows just fine.
@kd6icz did this issue occur more than once (if so how often) ? Were you using app.plex.tv or the web app bundled with your server ?
@bengeorge. Yes. It happened just this past week on a different machine. But it goes away after a couple of days. It’s not affecting any operation of any Plex Pass features so that’s why I haven’t made a big deal out of it. I just thought it was odd.
