Server Version#: 1.32.3.7162
Player Version#: Not sure, cannot access!
Current Plex user with Plex pass (If that’s applicable). I reformatted my SSD and installed a clean copy of Windows 10. I honestly was ok with just starting with a brand new Plex server as well. After installing the media server, whenever I run it in web view I get the error “Not authorized, you do not have access to this server”
I am able to access a few settings by going to https://app.plex.tv/desktop, but none of them are server related (See screenshot here - Plex Settings - Album on Imgur)
What I’ve tried
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the media server - returns the same error.
- Reclaiming the server as per these instructions - Unable to get into any of these settings (unless I’m a moron and am missing something)
- Editing the windows registry to remove the four entries stated in this article. Plex was closed before these were edited and reinstalled after editing.
Again, ideally I’d be ok with just finding out a way to start a brand new server on my account from scratch, but it looks like I don’t have access to the settings/permissions to create that. At a loss for right now, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks all!
Quick Update - Following the [following article’s instructions]
(https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/) to completely uninstall Plex, I mange to get to a setup screen that says “Initializing Plex Media Server”. After a few minutes of this setup loading, I get an error stating “Something went wrong - Make sure the server is available and try again.”. When I attempt to log back on, I get the same error as the title “Not Authorized, you do not have access”.
I’ve uploaded the logs to this post. Plex Media Server.log (688.6 KB)
Second Update - I have no idea what did it, but I seem to have gotten it working. It was some combination of one of these changes.
- I created a new account using my wife’s email.
- I connected to my wifi network instead of ethernet.
After doing a complete uninstall (Control Panel + Deleting Reg Keys + Deleted LocalApps folder for Plex) and reinstalling I still ran into the issues, even though I was using my wife’s email and Plex account. Oddly enough, when I clicked “Open Plex” on plex.tv, it took me to the server setup screen. Seems to be going fine now.
