After changing password i can't access my media by web browser

@dane22 Anything else I can try? need this up asap

Getting same problem, my server isn’t Claimed and I run this on Unraid via docker. There is a docker command to force new claim-code in. Found one, but I cant be sure if it fits my server setup. Any idea how-to find out the command?

Or is it save to run only the claim command? For example docker run -d \ -e PLEX_CLAM ´XXXXXXX´

I am seeing this in one of the log files. not sure how to fix though.
ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR

I’ve got that error in my log file as well, as well as

ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Timed out waiting for cert response from plex.tv

I know, and you need to go to your PlexData share

See: Qnap faq.....read me first! - #5 by ChuckPa

Yep, seeing the same error here.
“ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR”

…I kinda had a feeling this would be an absolute headache as soon as i saw that email today, lol. How very predictable

Yep same here.

If i was locked out of my server would i still be able to access it by the app externally and internally by IP address by the browser?

Doesn’t work
app.plex.tv - Web browser external or internal

Working
Plex app external
Plexamp external
IP address internal - web browser

Has anyone got this to work or have steps to fix. I have same issue. Can access via apps and direct to server just not plex.tv

I also had to reclaim, sign out of all devices after pass change

That depends on the server setup, where one could disable auth for specific IP Addresses / Nets

Above would however mean, that one would access as the server owner

It was fixed for me after waiting a bit and I made a separate post regarding the problem, not sure if that had any impact. The issue is that your certificate needs to be reset on Plex’s end though. Nothing you can do but wait.

Yeah I believe this is the case as well. Everyone trying to do this all at once and the plex servers can’t handle the traffic

The cert-error shows the message “API rate limit exceeded”. So I’d agree that this might just be plex servers crapping the bed as everyone rushes to change their passwords and reclaim their servers. Hoping it’s that anyways.

That’s exactly what it is, no question lol. It was for me anyway (so I assume it’s a blanket statement).

I’m sure I’ll regret posting this… but what did that $50mil in funding go to? Wasn’t infrastructure…

I followed these instructions but for Synology and it didn’t work.

Yeah i didnt think they would that’s why I didn’t do it. Didnt want to mess my server up any more. I think its just a waiting game now

My Plex Server on my Syno is basically useless now. Password reset killed everything. Reclaiming the server did not work, editing the preferences.xml file did nothing. Had to reinstall everything. It worked for a second, then my server was considered “unsecure” by Plex and now it’s dead.

Ok, I am up and running now. Ipiddi is correct. It’s a waiting game while Plex fixes the certs on their end. All apps and devices are now working for me. After I reset password and reclaimed server, I had to wait until the certs were cleared up on Plex’s end.

Thank you for confirming :+1:
