After changing password i can't access my media by web browser

I just tried that and still cannot get on there to reclaim my server. Where is the option? The article does not seem to coalesce with the actual web access.

I also reset my password, and it appears to have created a whole new account, becasue the account that had the password reset is not allowing me to login, saying it does not exist. the new account does not connect to my server.

Might be late to this thread, but I’m running PMS on a Synology NAS. I can access it by IP, I can access it via mobile app, I can access it via Roku. I cannot access it via web app. What am I missing? I scrolled through thread and couldn’t find a solution that works.

Same here as you seems all works now except plex.tv

Right now my client is working and Plex is available on the local network, but I can’t access my server via app.plex.tv

Same, Password changed and now it won’t connect to my media on my Synology NAS. I go to plex and click “add media” and it just sends me to the Plex home page to download PlexMediaServer. WTH. I gotta say, Plex isn’t very good at making sure things work when they change/update things. Especially when the Data Breach isn’t even our faults .

I also have all the same issues.

Setup:
VMware esxi 6.7
running Expenology : DS3615xs, DSM 6.2-*****

followed what they said: reset password, and clicked logout all devices.

I then updated my PlexServer package on Expenology to:
PlexMediaServer-1.28.2.6106-44a5bbd28-x86_64_DSM6.spk

spin it up, logged in with new password, and wooooaaaa! advanced settings GONE.
i thought - WTF!

so i stopped Plex, and decided to uninstall it, and reinstall it - tried to login , slightly diffrent issues now - “not Authorised”.

next, i uninstalled. Killed all the files in :
/volume1/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server

re-installed, logged back in, and still got weird errors, after a while i got the web ui working.

but now when i sign out, and then sign back in I get “Server not reachable”, then quickly returns to the main web ui. where i dont see any of my content, and NO advanced settings.

WTF Plex!

now - i’m just screwed until some bright spark fixes the issues.

tried the “claimed” link - and it states as claimed=“0”.
and theres no way to claim the server again ? not sure what the hell how to do that now.

so completely STUCK!

any advice guys?

followed the instructions from: Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support

to no avail.

I have exactly the same issue after resetting my PW

I tried restoring from yesterday’s DB, but no joy. Everything is gone.

Plex team, what gives.
I’ve reset my password and now my plex has completely reset itself.
I can see my old server and a duplicate that is asking me to claim it only the duplicate is NOT the one I want.
How the f*** did you manage to screw up a password reset so badly?
My old server constantly says “currently unavailable” and the new one wants me to set everything up again.
Thanks

I changed my password and got in to my server, reclaimed it but now it’s like it’s running on a old 486!

Lifetime Plex Pass is showing but not actually fully working, as I am unable to see the stats of the server whilst videos etc are playing.

Then after a couple of minutes of usage I get booted and it asks me to login again, which I do and it says the server cannot be found, then it finds it and carries on playing.

Honestly this is the first issue with Plex I have ever had, but it’s really pushing me towards another piece of software for Media because I am curious as to why, a “simple” password change would cause all these issues.

i have tried resetting my pw twice now. on one of my two server i can log back in and reclaim it and it appears in apps.plex.tv. my other server (m1 mac mini running universal binary) says app.plex.tv is unable to connect to securely. looking at my logs i see this on the server that wont connect:

Aug 24, 2022 12:06:36.777 [0x16d0ab000] ERROR - [Req#1ae] CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
errors
error code=“1003” message=“API rate limit exceeded” status=“429”/>

this error is then repeated about every 120 seconds.

nothing on my end changed except the password reset and logging back in to reclaim the server.

After resetting my password and re-claiming my server I am getting the error:

app.plex.tv is unable to connect to “MYSERVERNAME” securely

Upon restart of PMS ‘Plex Media Server.log’ shows the following:

This appears to be some issue on Plex’s end not issuing certs.

Plex Status looks like they report no open issues, so not sure they feel it’s their end?

Everything seems to be working again, over plex.tv no less.
Just had to re-pin my favourite media sources.

even their support website doesnt allow you to raise a ticket. so i actually found the only way to raise it was - raise it as a billing question.

do that guys! raise a billing question!!!

I doubt a cert issuing problem would show up on their status page, but who knows. I’m 95% sure this is on their end.

This worked for me.

Windows

Certain Plex Media Server settings are stored in the Registry on Windows. In the Registry, they’re located under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server

Remove Certain Entries

Once you’ve opened the special settings for editing, you’ll need to remove some specific entries there.

Windows

  1. Quit/exit your Plex Media Server, so it’s not actively running
  2. Open the appropriate Registry area (as noted above) to edit
  3. Highlight the following entries and delete them:
  • PlexOnlineHome
  • PlexOnlineMail
  • PlexOnlineToken
  • PlexOnlineUsername
  1. Launch your Plex Media Server

It’s also weird that I can see my friend’s libraries, but not my own – except by clicking navigate directly to plex server which just brings up the IP page

The fix I used for same problem:

In this case, open a browser window and go to **http**://server.local.ip.address:32400/web (e.g “http://192.168.1.5:32400/web”)

Note - don’t use the encrypted link, just plain http.

From this support article: What if Your Plex Account Requires a Password Reset? | Plex Support

I was also able to access libraries from the Public IP address listed in Remote Access in settings
