I completed the new password, claimed the server and tried to implement Plex. The echo device clearly told me to update the credentials on the Echo Skill (makes sense!) - which I did. One echo device worked.
Later I tried to invoke on the same device - and it forgot! Updated the skill and it worked again, but only for one of my dozen echos. Then it forgot again!
I just updated my password last night. Totally forgot that my Echo is also tied to the account. I fixed my credentials, but don’t use it much. If I run into the same issue as you over time, I’ll let you know.
(Might not get much support here on this, FYI. I suspect the Alexa skill is really under-utilized)
Found the problem. First, I’ve got a splint on a key finger for typing, and it’s easier to type on a computer with a keyboard. That’s Windows 11.
As you know, there is no Alexa app for Windows and the web version is a poor stepchild. However, when I brought it up, it was in card view on Plex with a “Link this Account” link to relink.
You’d think it would work, right? And it did - for 10 minutes.
The answer was to go to the Skill section of an actual Alexa app and relink there. If you have a two profile household, be sure to do this for the Plex skill if it’s in both profiles.
