I updated to newest ios version today sept 5 2024 version 8.39 and now nothing will play it just spins. Even downloaded content on my phone wont play even if i turn on airplane mode before loading app

IOS developments are getting worst and worst
The app is crashing all the time (after a pause and change of app, launching a chromecast play…), it take decades to load a show season …
DO THE DEVELOPERS USE THEIR OWN PRODUCT ? I think we all know the answer
Sorry to be rude but I am client (plex pass) since years and the app quality on ios is not serious and really different from android experience
So i just deleted plex and reinstalled and things are playing again but the downloaded content got wiped so i cant test that yet
I have 60gb datas I don’t want to spend hours to download it again ![]()
I feel you dude i just deleted over 200gb of data but thats the solution i found to work.
These devs … it would be so nice they do use plex on ios themselves and do complete their tests with our feedbacks so that the quality is better
But…since years… no much change…
They even have logs from the app and server about crashes … must have millions of Gb…

Looks like I’m deleting and re-downloading stuff.
At least I have my music in PlexAmp instead and that’s working (for now).
Not seeing an issue here at all with 8.39 on iPhone or iPad both on OS 17.6.1. Could it be some geographical issue affecting only certain users based on their locale?
I didn’t have a problem with my devices either, upgraded this morning and been working fine. I don’t have any downloaded content on them so I don’t know if that makes a difference .
Sitting at an airport getting ready to board my 12 hours of flights… with none of my downloaded content playable. iPadOS 18 (release version on 2024 Pro). Just pinwheel spins when i try to watch anything.
Argh, got hit by this too.
It works if I’m on Wifi at home, on the same Wifi network as the PMS is… But anywhere outside, 4G/5G, other place wifi, etc, and it doesn’t work, just spinning wheel.
It won’t even play the downloaded media either.
Plex client on iOS was upgraded yesterday, to 8.39.
PMS 1.41.0.8911 on Synology 7.2.2

I noticed a go to playlist stopped working. One song from a recent album would not play. Just little odd things like that. I uninstalled, re-installed and it’s fine.
