First off, as I mentioned in another topic, my downloads did NOT migrate (trying to play the files results in a half-loaded black screen with a time of 0 minutes for the film), leaving me stranded on a 5 hour flight without the content I had planned on getting through that day.
I am now home and on wifi. I have deleted the old worthless files and tried to download some from my server. It says “Queued” and does nothing. Cannot download any content. This is very bad. I have tons of space, my settings don’t show a storage limit.
Other bugs I found within seconds:
In the Libraries tab, long pressing the “Libraries” tab at the bottom froze the app. Happens repeatedly.
In the Libraries tab, long pressing the selected library at the top, exiting, then trying to select the library from the top, froze the app. Multiple times. Repeatable.
It wasn’t easy finding my playlists and once I found them, the playlist I was looking for was not there even though all my other ones were, presumably because the content in this particular playlist was exclusively different library (Movies to Watch instead of Movies) rather than mixed from both. Guys, this is awful. I shouldn’t have to switch libraries to find my playlist. And playlists feel buried as it is.
I hate the default locked landscape. I will put it in landscape if I choose to.
This is after just a few seconds with the app. I don’t want to be a Beta tester. I don’t want to be guinea pig. I don’t want to find bugs for you. I’m not enjoying the new experience. I guess it’s shinier.
Can’t add any media to a playlist from the mobile app anymore.
Can’t rearrange items in the playlist anymore.
Can’t display a playlist as a list anymore.
Can’t create a playlist anymore.
Can’t delete a playlist anymore.
Can’t organize the Home screen.
I do sincerely hope this redesign enables the app to get better in the future, but it should never have been released in this state. It’s just frustrating when functionality is removed and the result is a buggy mess. I literally cannot use the app right now since I cannot download anything and a good portion of the time when I try to do something I used to do, it’s missing.
I don’t want to waste my time any further trying to figure out what I can and cannot do. As I said earlier, I don’t want to be a beta tester and I don’t want to spend my time finding and reporting bugs. That’s not what I paid a lifetime pass for.
I can confirm this! The new update is very unresponsive. Downloaded media is not navigatable, doesn’t allow for scrolling, out background, randomly stops. Cannot downgrade to get all my media working again. This needs to be fixed asap
It’s insane how after 30-60 seconds any normal user can identify these problems. They rushed a complete lemon of an app and now expect us all to bend over backwards to sing praise about it? Or pay the new fee to come in to this experience? It makes no sense - is the incompetency intentional or could it actually be an accident? I don’t know how anyone can argue that they did this on accident.
I can only download TV shows, movies fail to download.
Also, I tried “High Quality” rather than original, and one TV episode went from 1.6Gb to 2.1Gb, so it transcoded larger? wtf
Hey devs, I checked the Plex Media Server.log and I see this repeatedly. I have plex set to transcode using RAM. I have 64Gb which I thought would be plenty

Update #3 - changed /transcode to my NMVe drive and now it’s transcoding the movie to download. However its CPU transcoding it even though I have a GPU transcoder set up lol
One interesting things is that when you download something with transcoding, it seems to block other downloads from occurring. Might make sense to separate that out so that you have downloads without transcoding and downloads with transcoding so the transcoding doesn’t hold things up.
Same boat, not happy one. Shuffle missing, repeat options, hating the ui changes and missing features (or now hidden, but not a lot of places to hide things…)
I think a problem is that they’re not beholden to their clients. Most of us have already paid and our only voice is money (like anyone cares about customers otherwise). Well, they can change, discontinue and F with us all they want and wont feel it until the reputation tanks and future purchases slow. Lagging indicator. I’d take my money back right now if I could.

I wish l had a job where I could be this incompetent, mess up an upgrade / rollout horrifically and still have my job… Then again, I care about my clients and would never let anything like this happen…
Not just IOS, Android is buggy AF too… missing thumbnails. I have PC, IOS, Android, Google TV. PC and Google TV still work with the older version thank goodness… the others are all forked up..
When are you going to fix the download in iOS? It has been frustrating that it works on some devices and not others. It doesn’t work on iPad iOS 16.7.11
I reinstalled the app 5 times, no luck
Hope you get this fixed soon! Looking through all the threads, it appears this was not ready for a full rollout.
Why won’t they just revert back. I don’t get why they can’t admit a mistake was made! Honestly thinking of using something else but haven’t decided what yet. Any suggestions?
One solution is Infuse. It stinks to have to pay for Infuse in order to make my Plex Pass purchase actually work, but Infuse has gotten me what I need.
I’ve also played around with switching to Jellyfin. Unfortunately they don’t support downloads in the app yet. The Streamyfin app for Jellyfin does but it’s somewhat in Beta currently.
everyday I come to check for an update after not being able to skip an ep, just so ridcilous. In terms of infuse sounds good so might check that out. Does it do the stuff the previous plex working app did?
So, when will we be able to access our personnal libraries again?

Another issue I’ve noticed whilst casting from the iOS app to Chromecast, is that I can’t change the playback quality. So it sits ‘buffering’ on our satellite internet connection.
