Server Version#:1.28.2.6106-44a5bbd28
Player Version#:
every time i update my plex server on linux i loose everything and have to add everything back
Do you mean starts like it is a first time install? Is the PMS data folder getting overwritten?
yes its starting like a first time install and the PMS data folder is getting overwritten
What flavor of linux are you running? How exactly are you initiating the update?
im running Debian 11 linux and i iniciated the update in the terminal using dpkg -i plexmediaserver_1.28.2.6106-44a5bbd28_amd64 from the public download release
Did you edit /lib/systemd/system/plexmediaserver.service ?
Do you purge / erase before install ?
i haven’t edited anything i purge before install but it was never a problem for me until recent updates
I’m investigating something on 1.28.2.6106 which seems to be an issue.
If you downgrade back to the previous version (on top of what’s installed) does everything return?
if i downgrade back to the previous version nothing returns even if its on top of what is installed
With PMS stopped, Please make a tar.gz of your "Logs"directory under “Plex Media Server” and attach it.
Something is not right there. HOpefully something will be in the logs.
ALSO: If I may backup for the basics?
Please share:
- Host type ? (MacOS, Linux, Windows, a particular NAS vendor)
- Distro / OS ?
- Version of that OS installed
i tried it now and its working all i did was not uninstall it and only install the update on top of the one installed
