To find the IP address on your Windows PC do the following:

  1. Go the the Windows search bar at the bottom left.
  2. Type in “cmd”. A result will show saying “Command Prompt”. Click this. A new window will open.
  3. Type “ipconfig /all” (make sure the space is in there) and hit enter. Your local IP address is listed under IPv4 address.

Just adding my experience here. I reset my password and my plex server no longer showed up on my account. However, I didn’t have to edit my Preferences.xml file. I found the key already removed. All I had to do was restart the service using ‘systemctl restart plexmediaserver.service’ (It’s linux, not windows) and it came up asking to be claimed. After restarting I went to https://[local ip]:32400/web/index.html. Then signed in and pressed claim (It asked twice). All profile data was still there, along with all libraries. Hopefully this helps someone when they reset their password.

My PMS is on nvidia shield.
I don’t understand what I should do. All I know is that yesterday everything was working when I just changed my password as Plex asked me to.
