Hi, I received the email for Plex account incident and asked me to reset password and sign out from all of my devices, and I did all of those. Now I can’t see my server anymore when open https://app.plex.tv.
I tried to reclaim server by opening the “http://my server ip:32400/web”, it asks me to log in my Plex account, and after logged in, I can’t see my server anymore. In fact, there is no “Server“ section in “Settings“ at all, only a “Plex Web“ section. I removed all authorized devices from my account, and I tried to reboot the server multiple times, and clear the cookies/close the browsers many times, but none of those works. How can I bring my server back? I can’t believe I’m the only one who get into this mess due to this severe Plex incident which happened once just 3 years ago.
I fixed my issue by hitting the web interface for Plex via https://[local network IP]:32400/web. From there, you go into General settings for the server and click the “Claim” button.
The email describing what to do should probably have mentioned this bit as it seems lots of folks are posting about it.
Same issue here. My main ‘god’ account (with more permissions) can see the server on the local network, but it CANNOT from my Plex IOS device running on cellular.
Strangely PlexAMP can see the server on cellular.
My managed account can’t see the server at all local or remote, I even tried to create a new one, same problem.
Update, cellular now working on Plex for IOS main account, not for managed.
I solved the issue by opening the file “C:\Users\_Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Setup Plex.html“ in web browser (seems it works from any computer in the same network, just copy the file to any computer in the same network and open it in your web browser). The file contains some information about your Plex server. Wait for some time after opening the file (for me it always showed initialization for the server and never finished), and then login to “https://app.plex.tv“ and you can see the server appears.
After logging into the https://serverIP:32400/web settings>general> there is no claim button anywhere. I even changed the claim code on the server side, for giggles.
This is expected. Changing the password as instructed has removed all devices from your plex.tv account. That includes your server.
In order to regain access to the server both locally and remotely, you need to add it back into your account. (i.e. “claim” it)
Had the same problem as everyone else. I solved it by closing the server. Then downloaded and installed a fresh copy from the Plex website and everything went back to normal.
Remote access took a few minutes to start working by itself. Actually thought my ISP had put me back behind cgnat again!!!
Anyone get a real official solution. i have the same issue as all and i followed some steps by updating the Preferences file and restart and still no luck. This is a terrible situation to be in after plex being hacked and now loosing access to own instance..
I don’t know what kind of voodoo this script did but it brought my Plex server back after a couple of hours banging my head against the wall. Thank you OttoKerner and ChuckPa (author of the script).
