After resetting password, when I try to grant library access to friends my PMS freezes

The PMS was running fine for months, but after I changed my password because of the security breach email I was unable to see any libraries. So when I went to try and check library access my server would just freeze on a black screen. Then I removed and re-installed PMS I could re-connect my libraries again, but when I go to grant access to friends is freezes on the black screen again.

I’ve left it running for a couple days and I can access Plex, but when I go try to share to friend again it crashes. Anyone else experiencing this after changing their password?

Are these new friends or existing friends that might not be showing on your new install?

I think you should include Linda so that wiser minds than I, can see what is happening behind the curtain.

Hi @jfreiman these are existing friends, everything was fine until I changed my password. I even tried removing all my friend and when I tried to add them back my server froze on a black screen again.

I’m not remotely close to being an expert, but id suggest looking at at your Plex account online and see if you might have multiple servers available? Perhaps you made another server in the past and connected to that server?

FYI, I haven’t changed my password yet because I’ve seen too many post-password change threads and I didn’t want that to be me!

I’m still waiting until something from Plex acknowledges whether there is or isn’t an issue, etc.

(But I can’t/won’t wait forever because being hacked is worse than being locked out)

I have similar problems. After changing my password, I could not access my PLEX server. Took this as an opportunity to change to a new computer, rebuild my libraries, and clean up some problems. After MUCH struggle I have been able to create a new PLEX server name and add libraries, but I can only grant access for any one user to the first library I created or to “All Libraries.” Connecting to “All Libraries” results in NO libraries being visible in the user interface on my end-user devices. Very frustrating. Wish I had done like jfrieman and put off changing my password.

Just a note of clarification: I can see the new libraries I have built under my new server name and I can see the movies, TV shows, etc., in the libraries, I just cannot grant access to any but the first one built to any of my users.
