After several days of uptime, Previewthumbnails and intro scanning is very slow

Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364-6d72b0cf6 on Debian 11.5

After some uptime Previewthumbnail generation starts to get really slow. From a few minutes per episode to a few hours. So does Intro Detection. This started to happen 1 or 2 versions ago.
The problem is fixed when pms is restarted until it occurs again after a few days/a week or so.

Is this a known problem?

Has the DB been rebuilt recently ( using the 3rd party tool available ) ?

I have never used third party tools to write to the db.
