after the most current android tv beta update every time I start the plex app I get a meesgae plex has stopped. Then I will start it again and it is fine.
same here.
Same, I sent logs when this happened for the team to test.
Glad it’s not just me, I also submitted logs
Same here. Can’t seem to get logs using IPofshield:32500/logging though.
Yeah, it is a bit irritating and it does not seem to behave the same every time. Sometimes it just gives the message and the picks up where it left off and other times it exits the app.
I have three or four times at least clicked the “Report and send logs button” but I am quite unsure that anything really happened. Once, and only once, I was offered a text entry field after clicking to send the logs but, after I entered the text, it seemed to do nothing and I was taken back to the “stopped” message without the text entry option. I do not think the reporting mechanism is working at all well or the app is crashing much worse than it appears.
BTW: This is on the Shield Pro.
With the fact that these stupid messages continue and the fact that no developers has in the least decided to grace this with an answer or even a request for further information I have to conclude that they have no real interest in the beta testers and that our feedback has no value.
Therefore I wish to withdraw from this beta and simply run the regular Plex version on my shield and I will do so as soon as I figure out how to actually get the beta off my Shield and load the regular one.
While I understand that betas will have problems from time to time and I am well able to tolerate that I will not tolerate neglect in the form of zero response in a forum dedicated to the beta testing. I have to assume that the developers really do not care about their testers and so, I guess, I will no longer care about them.

I honestly didn’t expect a lot over the weekend and I did sign up for Beta so I expected some things like this. Now I might be moved to your perspective if today or tomorrow nothing has happened but plex has been very quick with updates every couple days so far. Having said that the link you signed up for the beta on has the option to leave the program.

What I did expect over the weekend was something to the effect of “It has been logged and we will look into it as soon as possible.” What I did not expect was… nothing. But nothing was what we received, a whole lot of nothing.
I may have been spoiled by some other betas I have been in with Plex but zero response, even on the weekend, has never happened before. The only exception was when the developer was on vacation and even then he checked in every day or two in order to acknowledge posts and bugs.
EDIT: I noticed that option shortly after I posted and I clicked it. I also “Removed all updates” from my shield but, since it is a system app on the Shield it cannot be removed and I am unsure if I am running the beta or non beta version. But I “think” I am now back at the regular release.
Dude, could you be any more entitled?
They don’t owe you acknowledgment. They don’t owe you a response. This is not a customer support forum. This is a voluntary opt-in beta. This is not customer service.
Would you rather they work to fix the bug or write a little post so that you can sleep a little better at night?

That is one of the most condescending and offensive posts I have ever read. If you are typical of the people that frequent this beta then I am more that correct to leave it.
Betas are about interaction not about some secretive cabal writing code and hiding from the user base.
That is one of the most condescending and offensive posts
I’m glad you took it exactly as I intended it.
lmao, have I abused your dear sensitive feelings?
piss off you giant baby
Installed latest update today, problem persist. Cleared cache on plex app, restarted problem still persist. Logs sent

Do you really expect developers to respond on their weekend off? Most major businesses don’t so why would Plex be any different? You’re just back at an old old old version. You need to opt out of the beta at the same place you opted in if you want the regular release.
Bug seems to be fixed in latest update
Fix crash on startup for users that had played something under a relayed connection with version 4.28 of the app
@Andrroid - Thanks for confirming.
Definitely seems to be fixed, I initially had several more after the update but havent seen them lately.
