What are the chances we can beta a early release Plex player for shield

With people stuck in their homes I feel like this should be okay to do. My shield drops the stream every 20 minutes on the dot then I have to restart the shield to resume. Ended up switching back to my Apple TV to get by for the time. I can’t be the only person in this situation but I’m assuming a lot of others do not have a second non android device.

Try this:

Sorry it’s German, but you will get it

Here the translation.

Hello, I think I’ve solved the problem. In the english forum someone has described a similar problem but with a different SESSION ID under Settings / Network / PAUSE longer than… was set to 10 min. and I have set the value to 0 and lo and behold, it now runs through. Could be that an update from Plex with this setting now works differently than before. Maybe it helps the one or the other. Have fun with plexen.

You can sign up for the beta releases if you want. It’s publicly available.

What Dave didn’t tell you is beta has more issues than the public version. I don’t recommend it, I’m a beta tester and this wasn’t acknowledged when it was in beta.

Well, the issues are expected, it’s a beta

It was acknowledged, and the fix is in the next version. It’s just been slowed down due to factors outside our control, including the extended approval time in Google Play now.

@DaveBinM I have to take exception with what you stated. It wasn’t acknowledged at the time it was reported. The beta version then went out to the public and then it was acknowledged it was an issue. It should have been acknowledged and held up the release going stable. Hopefully the devs can follow better development standards going forward.

Agreed. That’s why we’re beta testers, to make sure the public release doesn’t have this problems. Also Acknowledgement is always appreciated. I still enjoy testing😁
