After Update, No Movie metada

Server Version#: 1.18.9.2571
Player Version#: 4.30.1

So, I’ve been using plex for over 3 months now even bought a plax pass and everything, have been delighted, experience is great. BUT after updating from version 1.17.x to 1.18.9.2571 everytime Plex tries to get something the TMDB I get an empty reponse also fails if I try to pull from “Plex Movie” agent. Series with metadata from TVDB works fine.

No matter what movie I try to query:

But when I got to the TMDB directly it seems to be setup:

I’ve followed some instructions in other posts where they recommend swithcing of IPv6 Networking and restarting plex server, already done this. I don’t really want to do the whole Plex Dance thing, beacuase I’ll end up loosing alot of my playback history and probably user configurations and so. Don’t think its a network issue because I can access the plex server from outisde the network perfectly, and metadata for TV shows as I’ve mentioned before works great.

Folks,

We’re working on the movie metadata issue right now. We think we see the problem.

May I ask all who are following here to Restart PMS and attempt to match again?

Then, if still no match can be had, Please download the logs and attach the ZIP file?

I am also having the same issues

EDIT: did my upload not work?

Did you press “Reply” before the upload completed and showed a URL ?

Steps followed, I’ve tried following suggestion on other threads in the forum,From cleaning bundles, to optimizing database, to disabig IPv6. I’m guessing this issue is different. Here are the logs.

hi, I have the same problem it works perfect for tv shows but in movies it doesn’t work.

Regards

Restart didn’t change anything. I am also in Florida as I noticed on the other thread this may be a factor.

I am working, in my case an unraid server. I had to stop it and then start it. because restarting it still did not work.

thanks .

This problem was fixed earlier today.

There was a delayed impact for this bug because of long expiry on cache for a specific url. Only users with the Cloudflare cache expiring started to experience the problem due to incorrectly formed data for tmdb access .

The fix was deployed about 4 hours ago and Cloudflare cache cleared down

A Plex Media Server restart is needed as it caches the data in the session and the bad data caused by this bug would only get replaced by a restart

SOLVED BUT: maybe it was not the correct thread, but the problem is away.
I am from germany, and uses DOCSIS 3.1 for my 1GBit internet with a Fritz Box 6591 Cable. In the fritz box there is a grey point left under: Inhalt (Content) → There you can go down to Fritz!Box Support → On the next page there is a point: Paketbeschleunigung (packet acceleration) Here we come… disable the point Hardware acceleration, and Save this option. Here we are, it works fine. Saving Posters without waiting, searching for meta data, without looooong waiting. When u disable hardware acceleration, I don’t get 1GBit, only 500MBit, and without the packet acceleration I got only 100MBit. So that is not the perfect way :frowning:

The same on my site.
Hello guys, I have one big problem with my server, installation is a fresh one on a proxmox (Intel Nuc, i5 with 4 cores and 16GB RAM, 250GB M2 SSD). The VM is a Debian Buster with 10 GB RAM and uses my 4 Cores. My Question: Since I install the plex media server on this VM the metadata need too long to change the informations (posters for example). If I change a poster on myself and click on save, the same, you must waiting for a lot of seconds maybe one minute until it is saving and change the poster. To find new files works fast and fine. What could be the problem? Since the night the server change a few posters, at first there were only thumbnails of movies, but I have disabled the thumbnails.

Interesting is, that in some cases plex has the full meta informations, but not change the posters itself, and if I make it over the editor button it works too long until change. plex is the owner for the files and folders and the group is always plex.

Still not fixed for me. Restarted Plex. Rebooted router. Tried deleting Cache and Plug-in Data. Problem is happening with all new library entries. Sometimes metadata comes through, but no posters.

Hi guys,

Been having the same problem over the past few days.

Problem - No posters on Movies, other metadata is fine. TV Shows have posters and other metadata.

Here’s is my spec:

  • LinuxServer IO image
  • Raspberry Pi 4 4gb
  • ISP DNS Server

Things I have tried:

  • Changing the ownership of all folders on drive to the User that the docker container is acting as.
  • Deleting and recreating the library
  • CHMODing the entire drive to 777
  • Changing agents order etc
*Deleting Plug in folder and the metadata folders
