Metadata not working / incomplete

Having the trouble with both TVDB and MDB… Really causing issues with my database…

Tried refreshing metadata, unmatching and finding it again.

In some cases it finds the show or movie’s name and description, but no imagery or further details

… I’ve attached my server logs

I’ve been having issues with my TV metadata also for weeks now. I’ve heard thetvdb might be having issues.
if you’re using an NTFS file system try adding everyone permissions – especially if you’ve recent updated your OS and if you plex db is on a different drive.

Same here, I added a few ripped items to my library and it just labels it as episode(insert number). I only ever had trouble once like this and it was when somehow the tvdb was down but you could still go to it. So is that what is going on now?

Driving my OCD up the wall!

Same, for very popular TV shows as well

Same here for “South Park”

Seems like an API link issue

Just noticed something odd - on Movies (pulling metadata from Plex Movies), if I refresh metadata using my Android phone on Chrome (not the app), it updates no issues.

Doesn’t do it on the PC, and also doesn’t work for TV shows - just Movies.

I’ve been having incomplete movie metadata as well as well-known movies not being picked up…One movie is pissing me off…X-Men (2000)…The plex movie agent and the movie database will not scrape it . Then many movies metadata I had to refresh manually…Is there some nuances with the agents I am not aware of…I have a movie database of approx. 3200 movies…4 movie folders…I tried moving X-Men (2000) from one folder to another and still the Plex movie agent would not scrape it…Metadata also I do not like manually adding metadata when these scrapers should do it. Any suggestions?

I’m noticing older movies not getting any art over the last day.

Thanks for the NTFS-Everyone tip. I didn’t update my OS (Server 2012) but I did backup my PMS directory last night. A lot of the movie thumbnails were missing but most of my TV thumbnails were gone. Looking in the \PhotoTranscoder directory where these are stored had today’s date as modified. Very possible it was the backup that changed the modify flag. I applied Everyone with Read-Write permissions and they all came back.
Thanks again!

Experiencing issues as well, I can match the movie but it’s just not pulling in any of the metadata. Tried refreshing metadata from different devices (windows and android) but no luck :frowning: .

Well, finally got the PMS the way I like it. The Plex Dance works. One needs to not give up, but make sure you BACKUP PMS including the registry(Win10) because you do not want to waste alot of time doing this again.

Issue hasn’t found a resolution yet (over a week now) - anyone from the Plex support team have anything to add/recommend?

I hate to say this, but I’ve had to install another well known server software (you know the one) to download the metadata from TheMovieDatabase and TheTVDB. Leave it in my series and movie folders and ask Plex to pick this up from my ‘Local Media Assets’.

My media is perfectly organised and has been for the passed 5 years. I reinstalled due to other issues and have since been unable to locate the correctly named media (Fix/Unmatch) and their corresponding files/pictures.

I originally put it down to my Mobile/4G connection, but the aforementioned ‘other server software’ worked, so cannot see it being that…

Either there is a problem with TMB and TVDB that Plex is unaware of and not repaired and ‘the other server’ produces have found and addressed… or it’s something else.

I would like a Employee to run a test enviroment on a new server and see if (for example) 47 Ronin gets the write up information from any of the agents active on Plex… Fanart? TheMovieDB? Because I’m struggling to the point the Agents cannot find ANY information for my media.

TV Shows, Movies AND Music is effected as far as my server is concerned…

Can Muzicbrainz, TheTVDB and TheMovieDB be having the same issue all at once? I think not!

Think it’s pretty obvious the issue’s from Plex - I tend to succeed in pulling data if I sit there and incessantly refresh metadata around 20-30 times until I’m lucky enough for it to work…

Either there’s a bandwidth issue with the API or something of the sort - but the issue isn’t with the sources (TVDB/MDB) - it’s with Plex’s ability to pull the data

Avatar… not on TheMovieDB… Hahaha!

Perhaps Plex has caught 'rona.

Keep searching - it’ll work eventually

It seems to be working well today - anyone else noticing this?

Been having the same issue. For me, all movies that are on my home screen (like for Recently Added and such) are missing posters, synopses, cast info, and so on. But if I go the Movies page, everything shows up fine.

Refreshing metadata for the movies library fixes the home screen issue, but only temporarily. As soon as something like a new episode or movie gets added, the metadata disappears again.
