After updating Plex Media Server crashes after starting up

Hello, I’m having an issue that when I updated from 1.18.8.2527 to 1.19.1.2645 Plex Media Server crashes a few seconds after launching. Attached is what I believe is the log for the server during startup.

Things I’ve tried:

  1. Repair on the install
  2. Uninstall and re-install
  3. Re-installed old version (now has the same problem)
  4. Installed 1.10 (Works but doesn’t communicate with the players - Will have same issue upon updating to latest version via GUI)
  5. Did #2 + Deleted Local AppData and removed registry entries
  6. Every single step above + reboot after finishing and reinstalling

I’ve tried installing 1.19.2.2737, but it also has the same issue. I’m completely unable to use Plex Media Server at all.

Any other diagnostics to try before wiping the Windows server and starting over?

Have you tried to reinstall 1.18.8 and see if that works?

I ran into a similar issue… when I tried to go from 1.18.3 to 1.19.1
when I went back to 1.18.3 it would start up but wasn’t really running from what I could tell. Nothing else had changed other then trying to do the upgrade…
So I tried 1.19.1 again and got that Plex needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
Did the uninstall and reinstall but it failed almost at the end.
went back to 1.18.3 still no go…
so I tried 1.18.4 and got the uninstall message again…
did that and then reinstalled 1.18.4 and it worked…
I then did an install of every release after up to 1.19.1
some updates did updates to windows dot net.
another looks like it made database changes…

Just tried what you suggested. No dice. Still shuts down seconds after starting.
