Agents & Metadata, HELP! NOTHING WORKS

Server Version#:1.27.1.5916 ( Linux )

Hi everyone.
I’m a Plex user and big big fan, for exactly the same period, as Plex have been in existence. But now i think its broken, broken my patience, won’t do ANYTHING for me anymore, and now all the Agents have left the building also. No matter what i try to do with the different Agents, only Plex Movie is available, no matter if i try and change it in the Library settings, it changes right back again and will not let me try ANY of the other Agents/Scanners, and you would think this was it, but no no, now i just ignore the movies i add, and refuses to come up with any Title suggestions, even remotely close to actual title of the flick, and if i try to change the title, release year, or the actual filename itself, it just acts like a frigging pist off teenager, and returns with a blank search and says, ’ Scanner didnt find any matching results '. And this is happening more and more recently, except for, of course, titles only released in 2020, 2021, and 2022. And i cant rearrange the Agents and scanners in the Server settings either now, no no no, it just ignores me and refuses to even reorder or do ANYTHING to assist me. And i know i sound somewhat pathetic, but its not a on-going thing, nope, its like its just decided that unless i name every title Jurassic World, Dominion or similar, forget it. And to add to my frustration, ive bought a hosted solution, so theres no blowing the ■■■■■■ to pieces, and build a new one, nope. I can Restart it, Stop it, or as a cruel joke, press Repair or Upgrade!!

I’m not mad, I’m really really fed up, and sincerely hope that there’s an adult present on here, who might want to try and beat the unruly teen to submission and i might actually be lucky enough to get i fixed, without losing everything I’ve spent the best part of the last 5 years building.
Can anyone help me fixing the mean machine? I’ll do almost everything You ask of me.
Thanks in advance.

Can you please post your server logs? I have a suspicion of the root cause, but need the logs to confirm.

Yes sir… one moment

Wupti

Belive it or not, now its telling me, that a single movie library needs to be upgraded!!! So i press the Update button…guess what??? NOTHING is happening, it just keeps telling me that it should be upgraded…

WTxxxx actual little green elf is going on?

FYI you have verbose logging enabled, making them almost useless. Any chance you can turn off verbose, shut plex down, clear the log files, start plex up, perform a scan, and post the log files?

Yes. Debug logging enabled. Verbose disabled.

Naming & Organizing TV Shows

I was able to see some info in the files by searching for .mkv.

You need to rename and re-organize your files. They are not close to Plex recommendations.

No mixing movies and TV shows in the same library. It is not supported. It will cause problems with the correct identification and matching of media.

TV Shows

Incorrect:
/home36/nastybaloo/Space Series && Films/Edge.of.the.Universe.S01.NF.WEBRip.DDP2.0.x264-squalor[rartv]/Edge.of.the.Universe.S01E01.Planets.From.Hell.540p.WEB-DL.DDP2.0.H.264-squalor.mkv

Correct:

/TV Shows <-- Folder added to TV show library. Exact name unimportant.
.../Edge of the Universe (2003) <-- ShowName (year)
....../Season 01 <-- "Season" in English; two digits for year
........./Edge of the Universe (2003) s01e01 Planets from Hell.mkv <-- sXXeYY mandatory

Movies

Incorrect:
/home36/nastybaloo/Space Series && Films/Fireball.Visitors.from.Darker.Worlds.2020.NORDiC.2160p.HDR.WEB-DL.H.265-RAPiDCOWS/Fireball.Visitors.from.Darker.Worlds.2020.NORDiC.2160p.HDR.WEB-DL.H.265-RAPiDCOWS.mkv

Correct:

/Movies <-- Folder added to movie library. Exact name unimportant.
.../Fireball Visitors from Darker Worlds (2020) <-- Movie_Name (year)
....../Fireball Visitors from Darker Worlds (2020).mkv <-- Movie_Name (year).ext

ext = mp4, mkv, etc.

If you want to keep the tech info in the file name, enclose it in square brackets. Plex will then ignore it when trying to match the movie.

Example: Fireball Visitors from Darker Worlds (2020) [2160p.H.265.etc].mkv
